Hounslow Community Grants
Hounslow Community Grants 2010/11 has originated from the London Borough of Hounslow’s Funding Strategy 2011-2015 and replaces the Community Investment Fund.
Hounslow Community Grants will provide small-scale revenue funding to appropriate voluntary and community sector projects based in the London Borough of Hounslow. The overall aim of the fund will be to complement services provided by the Council, but not to replicate them.
Applications will be considered from voluntary groups in Hounslow that are not funded through the newly introduced’ Commissioned Voluntary Sector Services 2011-2015. ‘
Applications will be considered that fit within one of the following service categories:
Volunteering
Projects offering volunteering opportunities to involve more people
In local activities, contribute to the community and provide volunteering opportunities for unemployed people as a ladder back into employment
Community Cohesion
Projects that create a sense of belonging for all communities and promote positive relationships between people from different backgrounds.
Community Pride
Projects supporting local communities to participate more effectively in local activities and produce practical, social and economic benefits to the community.
Equality and Inclusion
Projects meeting the needs of specific excluded communities.
Building Social Capital
Projects that connect people with each other and improve the quality of life for local people through a service or activity.
Safety
Projects that promote community safety by responding to residents needs through crime prevention initiatives.
Environment
Projects supporting grassroots environmental work and involving residents and communities in environmental and climate change issues.
